Tablo
Head of Design + Co-Founder | Startup
2012-2016
Tablo was a modern, interactive magazine archive designed for millennials. It transformed static PDFs into dynamic, user-generated databases where readers could crop, tag, annotate, and rediscover stunning magazine content.
The Challenge
Traditional magazine archives were outdated and passive. Inspired by the joy of clipping pages from physical magazines and the innovative UX of Rap Genius, we set out to create a platform where users could actively interact with magazine content. The goal was to make exploring magazines creative, personalized, and engaging.
The Solution
We built Tablo as a SaaS platform piloted with Vogue and Dwell. It provided tools for cropping, annotating, and tagging pages, turning every user into an active participant. Much like how Rap Genius redefined the way people interact with lyrics, Tablo reimagined how magazines could come to life in the digital age.
My Role
As Co-Founder and Head of Design, I led the product vision and design, guided the UX strategy, and worked closely with our engineering team to ensure a seamless, interactive platform that celebrated creativity.
Impact
Tablo became a standout example of how legacy media can thrive in a digital-first world. By blending the beauty of magazines with tools for personalization, it transformed passive readers into active participants and opened new possibilities for engaging with iconic publications.

The most complex and challenging interaction we designed involved allowing users to clip or cut out an entire page or specific components of a page. These clips were then indexed and made searchable for others to find and use later.
